Sitting in meditation this morning, I was first drawn to how difficult I found it to get comfortable. It’s no surprise really, I’m day 2 of my Cycle, deep in my bleed, my body is feeling all the things and being uncomfortable is part of being present.
“Get uncomfortable,” she whispered into my conscious mind. “Today is a day to get out of your comfort zone.”
It was clear as a bell and came in an instant as soon as I took that first cleansing breath. Even I had to tell myself to slow down and find my stillness before I could properly take in this message.
What occurred to me straight away is how connected I am, how in flow I can be, and how clear these messages can come to me when I am in the darkest and most spiritual part of my Cycle; my bleed.
It’s a sacred time and one I have spent the last two years learning to love. Now I relish it. I adore it. I listen to every piece of it with wonder, every twinge of pain or anguished emotion that comes from either my physical or my emotional self at this time. It is all there to teach me something; now I pay attention and I learn much faster, ease my discomfort much faster, forgive myself much faster.
As this thought came to me, this precious and wonderful awareness of the magic that is taking place within me, I was drawn to the image of a cauldron, filled with blood, being watched over and tended to by three cloaked women, the Coven of Three. From this cauldron whispers of the ancestors drifted upwards like ribbons of steam curling and twisting, being gently coaxed from the pot by these women.
This wisdom that comes from the womb. This magic that comes from your inner cauldron.
At the same time as these whispers floated upward, I was brought to the image of the Chakras, the Sacral and the Root. These two Chakras hold immense power and suddenly the divinity of their connection within women was so clear it almost took my breath away.
The Root Chakra, the one at the very base of your spine, connects us with the cycle of life and death. It is strongly associated with blood.
The Sacral Chakra, that sits just above, in the pubic area and connects us with creativity. It is associated mainly with our reproductive organs and in women, the womb.
The significance of our womb, our Sacral Chakra, our house of creative energy, pouring its magic, through the Root Chakra, associated with and connected to blood, and life, is pure gold!
I think when we work with our Charkas, we often miss the importance of the connections between the Charkas as pairs. They are in their positions for a very important reason, connected to each part of you very specifically as they weave magic through and between each other.
These two Charkas, the Root and the Sacral, combine their magic together; the blood and the womb, creativity and life.
When we give birth, our Root Chakra opens and we give birth through this energetic portal of life. And once upon a time, we would have given birth on the ground, most likely in a squatting position over the Earth, literally delivering our children to Gaia, a precious gift of new life for her to nurture.
It doesn’t just have to be children we birth into the world with our magic either; we hold a cauldron of ancient wisdom and Source Connection that is bubbling away with creativity and life affirming dreams. Women are the birthers of ideas, of inspiration, of healing, of wisdom, of nourishment. We are creators and dreamers, even the divine feminine within every male is birthing these things when it is tapped into and embraced.
Try this; when you next have your bleed, especially if you find it difficult to love this time of the month, make an effort to sit in meditation and bring your conscious, focused energy to your womb space. Ask it what message it has for you. Ask it to share its wisdom.
I think you’ll find you receive an overflow of information, it may be an abundance of ideas and inspiration, it may be a waterfall of tears that come from holding resentment in this area for so long. Don’t worry, it’s normal to resent your womb and Sacral Chakra, it’s all you’ve known and been taught to believe. But start now, to try and offer it kindness and love instead. It’s magic will floor you!
If you no longer bleed, if you don’t have a womb, you can still do this. You can still sit in this energy and ask your Sacral Chakra to share its wisdom. The energy of your sacred bleed is still there whether you have a womb or not. Even in men, you have lifetimes of having been a women in your Soul Lineage, tap into that if you can. What magic can you bring forward?
Do you see how much magic you hold within you, Goddess?
Do you see the magic and the potency of your sacred bleed even a little bit? Can you love it even slightly for the wisdom it begs to offer you?
Much love to you all.
